LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles Network for Enhanced Services (LANES), the leading non-profit health information exchange for the Los Angeles County hospitals and clinics, has announced the appointment of veteran health information executive Leo Pak to the position of Chief Technology Officer for the organization. The newly created position was developed to assist in overseeing and managing the rapidly growing business operations and expansion LANES has been experiencing.

Pak most recently served as vice president of operations at San Diego Health Connect, a health information exchange organization, where he developed a cloud-based infrastructure, positioned the organization to support the transition to data quality and instituted rigorous project and team management processes. Prior to that, he served as chief technology officer at Manifest MedEx where he was responsible for all aspects of technology, vendor management, corporate infrastructure, solutions management and operations.

“We are thrilled to welcome someone of Leo Pak’s caliber to LANES,” says Ali Modaressi, Executive Director of LANES. “His exceptional technical knowledge and experience will enable us to further our goals and better serve our existing and future clients.”

In addition to Pak’s experience at San Diego Health Connect and Manifest MedEx, he also served as a board member on the California Health Information Exchange, where he provided direction and leadership in establishing the needs of interoperability across California that resulted in development of a “Community of Practice” initiative and better transparency for public health information exchanges across the state.
